Hello everyone and thank you for registering for the 2021 Farm Harvest Festival!
This email contains some very important logistical information so you can have the best day possible at the festival so please review and plan carefully!
Instructions for Bussing:
-
Busses will leave from Euclid in front of Thwing at the posted times, so we highly encourage arriving early to get checked in and find your seat.
-
Check in with the stationed volunteers before you get onto your bus!
-
We are still looking for a few extra volunteers to facilitate check-in for the 2 PM bus if you would like to help us out for about 20 minutes!
-
-
If you are on the waiting list, we will have two Standard Parking shuttles arriving at Thwing at roughly 12:30. They can take about 40 students and will fill on a first-come, first-served basis!
-
This event has a waiting list, so if your plans change at any time, we would greatly appreciate it if you change your registration status on Campus Groups to free up spots for other students. This includes if you are registered for a 2:00 slot but get a spot the first come, first served 12:30 shuttles. Thank you!
If You Plan to Drive Yourself:
-
Any navigation app will take you to the main farm entrance, where parking attendants will be stationed to direct you to the proper lot.
Bus Arrival at the Farm:
-
Busses will be dropping you off at the Manor House parking lot, where SSC volunteers will greet you and guide people and guide you to the main area, about a 5 minute trail walk away.
-
There will also be a hayride to shuttle some guests!
Returning to Campus:
-
The busses will be making return trips at 3:30 and 5:00 PM and they depart from the Manor House parking lot
-
There will also be 2 small shuttles leaving at 2:15 from the main parking lot for anyone who wants to return earlier
-
-
We only have as many seats going back as we have there so this is very important:
-
If you take the 12:15 bus from campus and you choose not to take the 3:30 buses back to campus, we cannot guarantee you a ride home from the Farm!!
-
If you take the 2:00 bus from campus and do not take the 5:00 buses back to campus, we cannot guarantee you a ride home from the Farm!!
-
There is a designated pick-up area for ride-sharing apps, but as long as you plan your day, everyone should be able to have free bus transportation both ways!
-
Covid Reminders:
-
A mask is required on the busses, in indoor areas at the farm, and whenever in a crowded space at the farm.
Weather:
-
The event still happens rain or shine! Most attractions are under tents or in buildings but please be sure to dress for the weather!
Volunteers:
-
There are still a few volunteer slots available, so if you would like to help out for a bit at the event, please let me know!
And now for fun information:
-
Linked below is a map of the farm as well as a list of where all the activities are, who’s performing when, and what kinds of cool educational talks and guided hikes are starting at different times. Be sure to check it out!
Lastly, we are really looking forward to spending our Saturday with you at the University Farm. Naturally, shuttling hundreds of students off campus is a little complex even in a normal year, so we greatly appreciate your understanding and compliance with the guidelines we have set forth. It’s going to be an awesome day!!
See you soon!
Christina and the SSC Team
